The library facilities of the Ministry of Education and Culture were underutilised and the idea was to transform them into an activity-based office space for the ministry’s youth department.
In line with the wishes of future users, we used strong colours and exciting wallpaper surfaces in the space. In the lobby we used colourful elements designed together with the customer. The most spectacular element in the space is a violet sofa, and the same visual look continues on the wall behind it.
Before moving, we held a workshop for the youth department in order to establish new, common ways of working in the new premises. The department considered this a positive change: “Working in open- space workstations feels natural and, surprisingly, more peaceful than working in individual offices along a corridor. Brief, spontaneous meetings in the quiet areas bring structure to the day; the exchange of information is more rapid and more transparent – and we still have a laugh together, perhaps even more often!”
The project was carried out in collaboration with Senate Properties.
