The dream workspace

It’s a great time to be a call center worker, move to Fuengirola or Mijas, and work at Barona Base! There, you’ll find amazing colleagues, an incredible atmosphere, and a diverse range of facilities for working. There’s a scenic terrace, sauna, café, lounge, and various workspaces. Plus, with direct access to the underground garage for bikes, scooters, or cars, and an elevator straight to the office, working feels quite enjoyable.

Workspace Oy created the “Our Base” concept and designed spaces for Barona at Tripla in Pasila. The concept and spaces worked so well that they were adapted for Spain’s warm climate under the name “Barona Garden.” The concept’s implementation was overseen from Finland, while local partners did a fantastic job on-site. Throughout the many stages of the project, the client stuck to our guidance—“no white surfaces anywhere.” The result was stunning spaces for Barona’s relaxed and professional team, made possible through smooth collaboration and a deep understanding of the client’s needs.

Workspace with top-notch acoustics, lighting and atmosphere

A significant focus was placed on the diversity of spaces and acoustic quality. The relaxed and dynamic working style of call center employees was supported by the acoustics of both the space and furniture. Lighting was also a key focus. The typically bright lighting used in local workspaces was softened, and the lighting in different spaces can be adjusted to suit the situation and desired ambiance. In addition to the soft lighting, a relaxing soundscape welcomes you into the space, with music enhancing the atmosphere in both the entry-level and the break area with the rooftop terrace.

The space spans four levels: an underground parking area, the atmospheric work and meeting spaces on the -1 floor, an active working area on the ground floor, and a top floor featuring a break area, sauna, and a stunning terrace with numerous solar panels. Open stairs in the middle of the building connect the working floors, making it easy to move between them.

Barona’s service center in Fuengirola is an excellent example of multi-locational working, offering Barona´s employees a fantastic option to work in different places and even different countries. These spaces also serve as a great recruitment advantage. There aren’t many call center employees working in such purpose-built, inspiring environment that truly value the people.
